FCL SHIPPING is a term used in maritime logistics. The full name of the term is Full Container Load, which means a fully loaded container. This is a type of sea transportation that involves filling a container with goods from one sender.
ORDER SERVICEThe peculiarity of this type is that there is no cargo of other cargo owners in the container, and the consignee pays the freight independently. In this case, the cargo may not fill the entire area of the container.
The advantage of FCL is ease and speed. Preparation of shipping documentation is easier. The unloading time is also significantly reduced, because the container contains the cargo of only one customer. Therefore, upon arrival of the cargo at the port, its customs clearance and dispatch to the recipient’s warehouse will take much less time than LCL.
Most often, an FCL service may include a door-to-door delivery. There are sometimes cases where FCL begins at the port of loading and ends at the port of destination - usually this transport model is used for bulk exports or imports where bulk volumes of products are moved.
