TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS (ADR)
Dangerous goods are various substances that, due to their characteristics, can pose a threat to human health or negatively affect the environment. This category includes acids and paints, medical products, batteries and other groups of products used for household or industrial purposes.

In the world of logistics there are nine classes of dangerous goods. The higher the number, the more dangerous the cargo is. The class to which the cargo belongs affects the procedure for its packaging, labeling and transportation.
According to international standards, the category of “dangerous” includes more than 3000 names of substances that, if improperly transported, in case of road accidents, can harm human health and nature. The list of such goods in Ukraine fully coincides with the European classification.
To establish the category of dangerous substances, international digital and light indication is used. Thus, hazardous gases are labeled white or green, fire hazardous substances – red, explosives – orange, chemicals that will emit flammable gases after contact with water – blue. Substances that easily ignite are depicted as red shading with a flame pictogram. There are also pictograms for other dangerous goods.
Main classes of hazardous substances:
• Class 1 - explosives and articles;
• Class 2 - gases;
• Class 3 - flammable liquids;
• Class 4.1 - flammable solids;
• Class 4.2 - substances prone to spontaneous combustion;
• Class 4.3 - substances emitting flammable gases in contact with water;
• Class 5.1 - substances that oxidise;
• Class 5.2 - organic peroxides;
• Class 6.1 - toxic substances;
• Class 6.2 - infectious substances;
• Class 7 - radioactive materials;
• Class 8 - corrosive substances;
• Class 9 - other hazardous substances and articles.
Transportation of dangerous goods must be carried out by specialists with many years of experience and excellent ability to understand all the nuances and complexities of delivering such goods.
